On March 20, 2020, the Nevada Superintendent of Public Education submitted a waiver request to the United States Department of Education (USDOE) for assessments and accountability reporting requirements, as established by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The waiver was submitted on behalf of all school districts in the State of Nevada for the 2019-2020 school year. The waiver was granted by the USDOE.

• WIDA and ACT assessments will be scored, validated, and published; however, they will not be counted toward school accountability.
• The administration of SBAC and CRT will be suspended for the 2019-2020 school year.
• Students who did take a state assessment will receive a score report.
